Hit Monday Morning Running: A Calm Start for Modern Marketing Leaders
Share
Monday mornings don’t have to feel like an ambush ☕️
Here’s a slightly unpopular opinion:
Most Monday stress isn’t about workload.
It’s about friction.
Too many decisions.
Too many tabs.
Too many “quick things” before 10am.
After years around marketing teams, launches, Q4 hangovers and “fresh start” Mondays, I’ve noticed a pattern.
The best Mondays are quietly engineered on Friday.
Not with grand plans.
With small, boring moves that compound.
A few that genuinely help:
• End Friday by writing the first thing you’ll do Monday. Not a list. One thing.
• Close browser tabs you won’t need. Your brain remembers them.
• Decide what won’t get attention before lunch. Boundaries beat motivation.
• Leave yourself a kind note. Sounds silly. Works surprisingly well.
I’m biased, but I think marketers suffer more than most.
We live in inputs: messages, briefs, feedback, metrics, opinions.
Monday hits and suddenly everything wants attention at once.
Momentum isn’t about hype.
It’s about reducing resistance.
That’s something we think about a lot at Rockkt — not “how do you do more?” but “what quietly gets in the way?”
You don’t need a new system.
You need a smoother start.
One calm win before 9:30am can change the tone of the whole week.
So here’s my question 👇
What’s one small thing you do that makes your Mondays noticeably better?
