You can send people voice messages on LinkedIn. Most salespeople don't know about this (as the feature is hidden), which means this is the perfect way to stand out.
You can send a voice message which is much faster than typing and the response rate is much higher than a typed message.
While LinkedIn is an absolutely required prospecting tool, it's no secret that response rate for messages is almost non-existent.
If you are looking to increase your response rate, engage with prospects, save a tonne of time and stand out from the crowd, this tip is for you.
You can send a voice message from within LinkedIn and it is probably the most underutilised & underrated features.
There are four things you must know:
1. You must be connected to the contact (as a 1st-degree connection).
2. You can only do this on the app, and not on the desktop version.
3. It can only be done on the LinkedIn app (not the Sales Navigator app).
4. There is a 60 second time limit.
Instructions to send a LinkedIn voice message:
a) Open the LinkedIn app (again, not the Sales Navigator app).
b) Tap search and find the contact you want to send a voice message to.
c) Tap 'Message".
d) Tap on the microphone image.
e) Hold to record.
Don't worry, if you are not happy with the first recording, it will prompt you before you send it. You may then re-record your message.
