Who writes them, how they are researched, where AI comes into it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
The guides are written by Sam Hill at Rockkt. Rockkt is a UK company that builds software for sending physical post to sales prospects, so we spend our working lives on postal formats, address data, print, Royal Mail and the rules around all three. That is the expertise we are claiming, and it is the only expertise we are claiming.
Every guide starts with primary sources. For anything touching the law or tax that means the ICO, HMRC manuals, Royal Mail's own published tariffs and the relevant regulations, cited on the page and linked so you can check them. For anything about other companies it means their own published material and third party buyer data, with the date we checked it printed on the page.
We do not publish a number we cannot point at a source for. If a figure is missing from one of our comparison pages, it is missing because we could not verify it, and the page says so.
We use AI tools to help draft and edit, in the same way we use a spellchecker and a spreadsheet. Every guide is planned, directed, fact checked and edited by a person at Rockkt before it goes anywhere near the site, and the opinions in them are ours. We think that is worth saying plainly rather than pretending otherwise.
We publish comparison pages about products we compete with, which makes us an interested party, and we say so at the top of every one of them. The rule we hold ourselves to is simple: state plainly who the competitor is better for, use their real published information rather than a caricature, and put the date of the check on the page. If we get a competitor's product wrong, tell us and we will correct it and note the correction.
